Having made jams and chutneys for friends as gifts over the last few years, I have been inspired to cast the net wider and turn this into more than just ‘gifts’ for myself, but something that I hope brings some pleasure to others as they give and receive my creations.
My preserves are home-made – literally! I make them in my free time, in my home kitchen and put an immense amount of love and passion into this hobby which leads to my culinary creations. All jars are hand-washed, disinfected and heat-sterilised before being filled with boiling product.
The list of products will change according to the season and the availability of the freshest produce and new ideas, whilst bestsellers will be available all year round. I am open to ideas and would be delighted to receive your feedback.
For a minimum order of 12 jars, I will personalise the jam or spread to your own specifications (e.g. level of sweetness, ingredients used, spiciness, etc) and each jar will carry a personalised label.
All standard jars are 200ml, and I also offer taster jars of 40ml and larger jars of 380ml.
The Sweet (Jams and Spreads)
Apple Pie Jam
A spread to miraculously turn your breakfast toast into apple pie J. Apple chunks (for added texture) are combined with sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, lemon juice and a touch of clove.. Available with and without raisins.
This jam is boiled quickly in order to fully preserve the flavour of the fruit, offering a strong blueberry flavour with a complementary hint of vanilla.
Ripe, lush nectarines are cut into large pieces and deliciously married with a vanilla pod and sugar, with a hint of lemon to balance the sweetness
Strawberry, Black Pepper and Balsamic Jam
Ripe strawberries combine with a grind or two of black pepper and a generous splash of balsamic vinegar. The balsamic mellows the sweetness and the finale on the palate brings a zing of heat from the pepper. A fairly liquid jam in terms of texture.
A clear pinkish jelly featuring generous hand-cut chunks of pear. The rich pear taste is rounded off with a slight hint of vanilla.
A thick dulce de leche (caramelised sweetened condensed milk) cooked gently with freshly pureed bananas. Another pie-inspired creation delicious on crunchy toast!
The Savoury (Relishes, Chutneys and Pickles)
Red Tomato Chutney
One of my signatures – a tangy and sweet red tomato chutney, with a hint of chilli and other spices. Perfect as an accompaniment to cold mea2ts and cheeses, or grilled sausages.
Sweet Cucumber Relish
A tried and tested firm favourite! A cucumber-based relish, with onions and bell peppers for added taste and texture. A veritable explosion of flavours from the vegetables combined with the mustard and turmeric base. Perfect for hotdogs, sausages and other grilled meats, and in sandwiches.
Red Onion Marmalade
Slivers of red onion, slowly cooked with red wine, spices and sugar until the onions are soft, caramelized and jammy. Pairs superbly well with cheese, liver pate and other cold meats.
Spicy Papaya Chutney
Small chunks of green papaya cooked with hot Thai chilies, vinegar and sugar. A chunky relish, both spicy and tart,which is a great accompaniment to soft cheeses in particular, and also perfect with cold platters and in sandwiches.
Beetroot and Horseradish Relish
A very eye-catching and earthy beetroot based relish, brought to another level with the addition horseradish and vinegar. Goes beautifully with red meats and sausages, particularly grilled!
Slices of cooked beetroot pickled in a sweet vinegar, with bay leaves, mustard seed and other exotic spices.
